Job Responsibilities

The Production Intern will serve as an integral member of the Production team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Support the lead engineer in evaluating machine‑learning datasets, analyzing material‑testing data, compiling Plug and Abandonment workover data, and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements or cost savings
  • Collect and analyze data associated with mechanical integrity testing and present changes to BMPs to enhance efficiency and safety
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve GAPL systems and partner with technical staff on future gas lift designs for various operating areas
  • Assist in coordinating and overseeing the pull of cap strings and installation of production tubing
  • Take part in field tours and audits for field operations
  • Assist lead engineer in developing and monitoring asset tracking databases
  • Work with lead engineer on single pane of glass dashboards to highlight production differences from forecast and potential equipment vulnerabilities
  • Make suggestions for equipment improvement and testing standards
  • Update BMPs and SOPs from field audits and assist operations with developing the Learning Management System
  • Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs

Job Qualifications

  • Current Junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Solid understanding of core engineering principles required
  • Familiarity with geologic concepts
  • Basic understanding of oil and gas extraction processes required
  • Microsoft proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) required
  • Coding experience in Matlab, Python, PBI preferred
  • Ability to work well in a group environment
  • Willingness to learn and contribute
  • Ability to travel to off‑site locations as needed
