Job Responsibilities

The Accounting Intern will serve as an integral member of the Accounting team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

 

  • Develop detailed sensitivity analyses to better understand potential risks in the company’s hedge strategies
  • Enhance the company’s AFE reporting by developing/redesigning operational accounting reports to improve insight and decision-making
  • Build a process to reconcile differences between the various forecasts and actual performance figures
  • Reassess/reevaluate the company’s current inputs to strengthen and refine the cash forecasting accuracy
  • Assist the Operations team in tracking and accumulating costs
  • Design a process for gathering and entering data into OpenTicket on behalf of the operations team
  • Standardize the company's payout reporting
  • Provide assistance with various accounting tasks as needed
  • Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline
  • Currently enrolled in an advanced degree program (MBA or Master’s in Accounting) or equivalent
  • Previous internship or relevant work experience in accounting or finance is preferred
  • CPA certification or CPA candidate is preferred
  • Exposure to corporate finance, forecasting, and the oil and gas industry is a plus
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Power Query, pivot tables, XLOOKUP, complex formulas)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into informative insights for management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines consistently

 

The successful candidate must be authorized to work in United States of America.
