Job Responsibilities

The Title Suprvisor will serve as an integral member of the Land team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

 

  • Manage at least one (1) Title Analyst and coordinate with other Land department personnel in support of title analysis, including, but not limited to, the analysis for the payment of lease bonus monies, the title order process, the clear-to-drill process, and the title curative process
  • Assist and oversee the due diligence process and integration of complex, large scale acquisitions
  • Provide guidance to the Land Negotiations/Land Administration staff concerning relevant title issues, whether it be for the development of our assets, concerning the payment of bonus monies for new lease acquisitions
  • Assist the Land Negotiations department in all aspects of the title order process, ensuring that such involvement is consistent with, and in support of, the development of our land assets
  • Conduct additional heirship searches, title research, and secure mapping, as necessary, to resolve title defects
  • Communicate and coordinate with contracted abstractor/title firms and/or outside title attorneys related to complicated title matters and be able to comprehend and condense such title matters in an informative and instructive way to staff and management
  • Review abstracts and/or title opinions submitted by abstract/title firms and contracted outside title attorneys for defects and work with these parties to resolve inconsistencies and/or gaps
  • Provide for, and lead, when appropriate, the training and development of staff concerning title-related matters
  • Aid the Land Negotiations department and Land Management in assessing the business risk in association with all operational matters that are planned to take place in regards to outstanding title issues
  • Learns, promotes and supports Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures in order to achieve environmental, health and safety excellence and ensuring that staff are taking a proactive leadership role in managing EHSQ for assigned areas of responsibility.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in business administration
  • An advanced degree, such as a Juris Doctor or an MBA, is preferred
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of industry experience with significant exposure to U.S. onshore oil and gas land work.
  • Unconventional oil and gas experience as to the Marcellus/Utica shale plays in the Northeast part of the U.S.  is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and must be able to effectively multi-task given the array of responsibilities
  • Familiar with the use of Quorum Land Software and other supporting systems.  
  • Proficient in the suite of Microsoft Office software, particularly Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

 

The successful candidate must be authorized to work in United States of America.
