Job Responsibilities

The Operator, Gas Plant will serve as an integral member of the Belridge Gas Plant team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Operate gas compressors which includes starting, stopping, loading and unloading, oversee compressor operation, monitoring, and prepare unit for maintenance and troubleshoot as required
  • Perform general maintenance on equipment and systems of gas plant facilities
  • Operate liquid gas process pumps (centrifugal, positive displacements, vane, etc.)
  • Oversee NGL loading and storage systems, which includes loading NGL trucks, completion of Bill of Ladings, system troubleshooting, switch and gauge NGL storage tanks, and interface with drivers, and input daily reports
  • Monitor plant process systems for proper flows, pressures and temperatures, in both low temperature separation process and NGL fractionation
  • Complete all plant rounds, readings, observations, samples and other requirements
  • Report plant issues, contact contractors as required, oversee and direct crews during repairs complying with all safety requirements
  • Operate plant to maintain and test products to meet specifications
  • Monitor pipelines and ensure proper notifications are completed and comply with DOT requirements
  • Ensure communication of daily operations to supervisor; communicate daily issues with Operators when making shift relief
  • Complete and understand the importance of documentation in the operators log book
  • Comply with all EHS and safety requirements (PPE, LOTO, Hot Work Permits, JSA reviews, and all federal and state requirements)
  • Perform plant housekeeping duties as assigned
  • Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures while taking a proactive role in managing environmental, health, and safety for assigned areas of responsibility

Job Qualifications

  • Successful candidates must have a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of one (1) year in gas plant operations or related operations
  • Candidates must have a strong mechanical background and the ability to troubleshoot process systems
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems (Low Voltage) is strongly desired
  • Proficient in all MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) applications
  • Ability to perform tasks involving bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling or stooping, balancing, and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including weekends and overtime may be required at various times
  • This position requires individuals to work unsupervised and at a remote location
  • The successful candidate must clear a pre-employment physical

This position is a DOT-covered function and must comply with all applicable DOT requirements.
