    Job Responsibilities

    The Field Specialist, Automation will serve as an integral member of the Information Technology team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

    • Work with the facilities department during the design, installation and testing phases of new projects as related to automation, control and electrical.
    • Evaluate and review, technical and process documentation/designs related to process automation and electrical.
    • Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) utilizing ladder logic for automation processes, field equipment and instrumentation
    • Program Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens for displaying real time process data, acknowledging alarms, controlling set points.
    • Configure and program industrial automation protocol translators and data loggers to communicate with various types of PLCs and RTUs.
    • Manage SCADA software systems as they pertain to capturing field data measurements from production related assets (i.e. Wells, Water Tanks, RTUs, Compressors, Generators, Gas Processing Facilities, etc.)
    • Program, configure, deploy and maintain SCADA objects in SCADA system that model field assets.
    • Troubleshoot automation and communication problems in the field related to Ethernet and Serial radios, instrumentation, measurement devices, network equipment and automation systems.
    • Program, configure and maintain alarm management systems which monitor and report status on field assets.
    • Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures while taking a proactive role in managing environmental, health, and safety for assigned areas of responsibility.

    Job Qualifications

    • Successful candidates must possess a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience in automation and/or electrical field.
    • Proficient in reading electrical drawings is required.
    • Ability to troubleshoot electrical instruments and circuit knowledge is required.
    • Basic skills in using Allen Bradly PLC programming software required.
    • Must be familiar with National electric code, NFPA 70E and supporting codes.
    • Knowledge of electrical theory and perform electrical calculations is desired.

    The successful candidate must be authorized to work in United States of America with a valid driver’s license with no restrictions to operate a company vehicle.

     

    This position is a DOT-covered function and must comply with all applicable DOT requirements.
