    Job Responsibilities

    The Analyst, Payroll will serve as an integral member of the Human Resources team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

    • Responsible for processing bi-weekly multi-state payrolls for exempt and non-exempt employees in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, including:
      • Set-up and maintain payroll deductions, including tax withholding (federal, state, local), involuntary deductions (garnishments, etc.) and voluntary deductions (direct deposit, benefit contributions, etc.).
      • Review and input employee changes and other maintenance into payroll system.
      • Track, audit, review and enter employee timesheets and effectively communicate with employees regarding time sheet errors or omissions.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal tax regulations and Company policies and practices, reconciling issues appropriately.
    • Provide customer service to all levels of employees, answering and resolving a variety of payroll inquiries.
    • Assist with audits of payroll-related activity; research payroll issues/discrepancies and process necessary corrections.
    • Interact with benefits administration and other members of the HR department to ensure accurate and timely processing.
    • Serve as main contact for all reporting requests from Accounting, Audit (internal & external) and other SRC/NFG departments as well as external reporting related to payroll data.
    • Ensure proper functioning of HRIS (ADP) and timekeeping (Kronos) systems, including oversight of system design, controls, compliance and upgrades.
    • Provide recommendations on process improvements and controls.
    • Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs.

    Job Qualifications

    • The successful candidate must possess either:
      • High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 7 years of multi-state, full-cycle payroll processing including payroll accounting experience; OR
      • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience of multi-state, full-cycle payroll processing including payroll accounting experience
    • Advanced working experience with ADP and MS Excel is required. Experience with Kronos is highly desired.
    • Attention to detail and excellent organization skills is critical
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to meet pre-established deadlines
    • Working knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance regulations affecting payroll processing
    • Good communication skills with customer service focus
    • Ability to protect confidential information
