Job Responsibilities

The Engineer, Environmental will serve as an integral member of the Environmental Engineering team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:  

  • Perform pump and pipeline modeling on existing and future waterlines
  • Update and manage waterline attributes in ArcMap
  • Review permits and drawings to ensure compliance with state regulations as well as Seneca standards
  • Create material lists for various projects and work through the procurement process to purchase the necessary items
  • Work with consultants, contractors, and foremen to identify items needed that meet the specifications of the project
  • Monitor and track project progress with respect to deadlines and budgets
  • Prepare and submit a variety of regulatory reports and permit applications at the local, state, and federal levels
  • Create protocols and checklists for various operations that include constructing, maintaining, and/or inspecting facilities, waterlines, and groundwater wells


Job Qualifications

  • Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Environmental Systems or Civil Engineering; or be currently enrolled in the final semester of one of these programs.
  • A candidate with an Engineer-in-Training Certificate is preferred.
  • An understanding of Fluid Mechanics and pipeline modeling is required.
  • The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with other employees, contractors, consultants, regulators, etc.
  • The successful candidate must be able to collaborate in a diverse setting and willing to work in a team environment.
  • A strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Familiarity with ArcMap, Infowater, and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection regulations is preferred.
  • The candidate must comply with Seneca's EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs.


The successful candidate must be authorized to work in United States of America.


Highland Field Services offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. This position is not eligible for relocation.
